Sailor Nawate Haku-Chirashi Bespoke Fountain Pen – Koh
Introducing the newest additions to the Sailor Bespoke collection: Sailor Nawate Haku-Chirashi pens. These exquisite writing instruments, available in a trio of radiant foil-adorned colors – Koh (gold foil), Yoh (silver foil), and Kaku (copper foil) – are a testament to the art of pen making.
The creation of each Nawate Haku-Chirashi pen is an intricate, labor-intensive process. Beginning with an Urushi soaked Ebony Wood to set its foundation, it undergoes various stages: starting with a polished base coat, then detailed striation marking and washi paper dressing, and then firming its base with a striking blackish-silver foil. The pen is finally crowned with its unique colored foil decorations, sealing its impeccable finish.
Toru Toshida, the laquer artist behind this masterpiece, is the third-generation head of Shikko Yoshida, an Urushi atelier in the Aizu Wakamatsu region of Japan. He ensures that each pen is imbued with generations of artistic expertise. Not only is the pen a work of art in itself, but it is housed in a meticulously crafted box, making it a perfect gift or collector’s item. The 21k solid gold Sailor nib promises a fluid writing experience. An ebony wood cap and barrel give the pen its robust character, while the section crafted from PMMA resin ensures comfort during prolonged use. With gold-plated metal accents to complete their luxurious look, Sailor Nawate Haku-Chirashi pens are truly for those who appreciate the finer things in life.
